White Laces
Genre: Dream PunkRichmond, VA’s White Laces have been called to our attention after a year of their obsessive tinkering to find just the right way to jolt you awake with devastating tempo changes and chunky, shifting, pulse-rock.
The project began as a bedroom experiment for Landis Wine “at the mansion/squat affectionately referred to as Unicorn Manor.” There he cultivated sounds both ominous and brooding, like the way that a fuzz pedal still screeches softly when you’re not playing it or the sampler that twists a source in to an obscene, ice cream truck announcement.
White Laces are about the details.
The group eventually morphed and shed into a sleek, well-built four piece with Wine, the precision banshee James P. Held, Jay Ward, and Alex French.
Two of their songs are featured on “Time Capture, Vol.1,” and they plan to release a 7” single on The Acme Thunderer toward the end of 2010 followed with steady touring and many more releases.
